Description
You will be the Industrial/Operations Senior Engineer for the Production Operations team. Our team is responsible for supporting production operations through capacity modeling, standards development, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Industrial/Operations Senior Engineer you will be responsible for delivering industrial engineering expertise that drives efficiency and quality across the Santa Barbara focal plane.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain capacity models to forecast production capabilities.
- Create and update manufacturing standards and work instructions.
- Measure and visualize factory performance metrics.
- Design simulation models and factory layouts for facility expansion.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering disciplines.
- Experience with discrete event simulation modeling, machine and labor capacity analysis, or continuous improvement projects.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Strong proficiency with discrete event simulation modeling such as Simio (preferred), Process Simulator, or Any Logic.
- Strong proficiency with capacity modeling and analysis such as equipment/machine utilization, tool rate analysis, max rate analysis, or throughput improvement.
- Strong proficiency with continuous improvement initiatives such as cost reduction, HPU savings, schedule improvement, or quality/yield improvement using tools such as kaizen, value stream mapping, PFMEA, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.
- Trained in Lean Six Sigma tools and practices, and experience using statistical analysis.
- Experience with SAP and Apriso.
- Experience with SAP HANA, MS SQL, MySQL, or related database systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Python, or Confluence.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate data, data reporting, and data visualizations.
This position requires a government security clearance. The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Pay RateThe annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $77,700 - $136,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
