Description: Lead Integrated Circuit Design Engineer for the Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) design team at Lockheed Martin's Santa Barbara Focalplane business. The team advances infrared (IR) imaging sensors by designing and developing innovative ROIC architectures.
What You Will Be Doing- Design analog, mixed‑signal, and digital circuit blocks for ROICs, including CMOS pixel designs, analog‑to‑digital converters, and high‑speed transceiver circuits.
- Lead a team of integrated circuit designers to develop full ROIC systems on a chip.
- Coordinate with circuit layout designers, conduct lab testing and debugging, and present design review material.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to support IR sensor system design.
- Manage projects, interface with customers, and present design review material.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience with 16+ years of professional experience; or 14+ years of experience with a related master’s degree.
- Expertise and recognized authority in the discipline.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in collaborative team environments.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearance (facility requires special access).
- Experience as an IC design lead.
- Proficiency with the Cadence Virtuoso tool suite.
- Senior experience with ROIC designs and circuit blocks.
- Analogue circuit design of amplifiers, current mirrors, and bias circuits.
- Digital logic design using custom logic blocks or RTL behavioral design.
- Mixed‑signal design of high‑speed digital blocks (memory, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, serial transmitters).
- Transistor‑level layout mask design.
- Serial interface design (serial peripheral, I2C, command and control interfaces).
- Linux shell scripting.
- Version control of source code (Git or Cliosoft).
- Project management and coordination of engineering teams over product life cycles.
- Understanding of IR sensor systems and components.
- Laboratory experience with testing and troubleshooting CMOS circuits.

CompensationThe annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas) is $164,300 – $289,800, with additional incentive plans available. Salary ranges for other states will reflect the candidate’s final work location and are subject to market and business considerations.
Additional InformationWork Schedule:
4‑day work week, 10‑hour days (3 days off per week).
