The Senior Firmware Design Engineer is responsible for requirements analysis, subsystem design, modeling, simulation, and design verification testing. The role involves collaboration with experienced engineers and requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently within a team environment.
What You Will Do- Work on new product development based on customer specifications within the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department.
- Collaborate in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state‑of‑the‑art systems for airborne, naval, and land‑based military applications.
- Conduct detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development activities.
- Perform circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification, testing, and integration of hardware and software at the electronic component and circuit board level.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Digital Signal Processing
- Intel/Altera and/or AMD/Xilinx FPGAs
- Designing in MATLAB/Simulink with DSP Builder and HDL Coder blocksets
- Digital hardware design and firmware integration
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Microsemi FPGAs
- Experience with high‑level modeling tools and languages such as System Verilog or HDL Coder
- Embedded electronics, VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, schematic capture, signal processing, RF, and FPGA experience
