Senior Firmware Design Engineer
Location:
Goleta, CA, onsite. Eligibility: U.S. citizen or U.S. person. The role requires obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Analyze requirements and decompose into subsystem designs.
- Perform digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.
- Conduct circuit analysis, simulation, and design verification testing.
- Document design, perform design verification and testing, and integrate hardware and software at component and board level.
- Collaborate with integrated product teams to develop complex state‑of‑the‑art systems for airborne, naval, and land‑based military applications.
- Support new product development based on customer descriptions and specifications.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering (STEM); or equivalent.
- Experience in digital signal processing, FPGA design (Altera/Intel or AMD/Xilinx), and embedded firmware integration.
- Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink, DSP Builder, HDL Coder blocksets, and high-level modeling tools such as System Verilog or HDL Coder.
- Strong knowledge of VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, schematic capture, RF, and FPGA.
- Experience in embedded electronics, signal processing, RF, and system integration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera or Microsemi FPGAs.
- Advanced skills in HDL design, HDL Coder, and high-level synthesis methods.
- Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
