Quality Engineer (SQE)

Location:

Goleta, CA (Onsite)
• Security Clearance:
DoD Secret, U.S. Citizen required.

Responsibilities
  • Implement Quality Engineering responsibilities as a member of the Mission Assurance Integrated Product Team (MAIPT).
  • Work independently and be able to travel domestically up to 15% of the time.
  • Act as the point of contact (POC) for Mission Assurance ensuring suppliers fully understand technical and quality requirements.
  • Lead corrective action request (CAR) and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean practices and other critical‑thinking improvement methods.
  • Ensure Quality Engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including transition of design to production.
  • Support relationships with key suppliers to make sure compliant materials are delivered to RVS according to schedule.
  • Support incoming inspection teams and provide technical guidance to suppliers to drive continuous improvement in RVS supply chain capabilities.
  • Collaborate with RVS engineering and manufacturing to acquire an in‑depth understanding of technical and quality requirements of our products/components.
  • Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross‑functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years related professional engineering experience.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems AS9100 or ISO
    9001.
  • Experience with Root Cause & Corrective Action methodology (RCCA, 8D, 5

    WHYs).
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Six‑Sigma tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, PARETO chart).
  • Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Minitab).
  • AS9102 First Article experience.
  • Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
  • Infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry experience.
  • Strong technical background with solid engineering and high‑tech manufacturing experience.
  • Experience executing and supporting PPAP, SCAR and Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with Statistical Process Controls (SPC) & Rolled Throughput Process data capture.
  • Experience reading and understanding mechanical, material & electrical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with inspection and quality disposition of electronics, materials (ceramics & substrates) & mechanical components.
  • Experience collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary Range

$75,800 – $144,200 USD
