Firmware Design Engineer – Goleta, CA
1st shift, 100% onsite. U.S. citizenship required and an active DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory.
Responsibilities- Support the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department in the Electronic Warfare Systems domain by working on new product development based on customer specifications.
- Partner with integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture advanced systems for airborne, naval, and land‑based military applications.
- Conduct detailed digital design, embedded system design, and FPGA development.
- Perform circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integrate hardware and software at the component and board level.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 2 years of prior work experience in a related field.
- Experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.).
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as Vivado, Quartus, VHDL, and Verilog.
- Digital Signal Processing experience.
- Knowledge of Intel/Altera and/or AMD/Xilinx FPGAs.
- Experience designing in MATLAB/Simulink with DSP Builder and HDL Coder blocksets.
- Digital hardware design and firmware integration skills.
- RF signal processing experience.
- Team‑based work experience.
