Job SummarySenior Firmware Design Engineer responsible for requirements analysis, sub‑system design, modeling, simulation, and design verification testing for aerospace and defense electronics within the Electronic Warfare Systems.
Responsibilities- Analyze customer requirements and decompose them into detailed design specifications.
- Perform digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development, including circuit analysis and simulation.
- Program FPGAs and write firmware/HDL with VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog.
- Author design documentation, conduct design verification and testing, and integrate hardware and software at the component and board level.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver complex state‑of‑the‑art systems for airborne, naval, and land‑based military applications.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a STEM degree.
- Experience in Digital Signal Processing.
- Experience with Intel/Altera and/or AMD/Xilinx FPGAs.
- Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, DSP Builder, and HDL Coder blocksets.
- Strong background in digital hardware design, firmware integration, and embedded electronics.
- Preferred: experience with System Verilog, HDL Coder, schematic capture, signal processing, RF, and FPGA high‑level modeling tools.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Candidate must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance; existing clearance accepted.
- Will work onsite in Goleta, CA.
The salary range for this role is $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
