The Vision Systems and Electronic Warfare Department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer II – RF/Microwave Design to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) and general electronics product development for defense applications.
The advanced RF hardware section is the focal point for cutting edge hardware. We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who is seeking to advance their strong academic background and experience in digital and/or RF/Microwave systems.

What You Will Do- The candidate will be responsible for designing and testing electronics of various complexity in a team environment. The candidate will be responsible for scheduling tasks, providing status, and working with a team of engineers, program managers, and supply chain.
- The candidate will work as individual contributor or in a cross-discipline product development team environment with electrical, mechanical, and system engineers.
- This position may require occasional business-related travel.
- 2+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with some design tools (SPICE, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB, ADS, HFSS, Hyperlynx, Gene Sys as examples) and the ability and desire to learn new tools.
- Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics.
- Hands-on experience testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers or vector network analyzers.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
This position requires a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
