Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer (QE) to implement and develop quality engineering and customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle with our Focal Planes Operations group.
This position is an onsite role located in Goleta, CA.
What You Will Do :
- Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements
- Implement quality engineering responsibilities as a member of a program Integrated Product Team (IPT)
- Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation
- Ensure quality engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production
- Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources
- Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAIs)
- Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics
- Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
Qualification You Must Have :
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of engineering experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations with working knowledge of business strategic planning and proposal, engineering development, material and service acquisition, production, test, product acceptance and/or post-delivery support.
- Working experience applying and adhering to Quality Management Systems IS0 9001, AS9100.
- Working experience of Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
- Working experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
- Working experience in predictive and proactive measures and metrics assessments and actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
