This is an onsite role in Goleta, CA.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary Systems Engineering focal point for the program
- Manage configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Partner with the Program Chief Engineer in ensuring the engineering team aligns to cost/schedule
- Provide technical directions to multi-disciplinary program teams
- Implement and ensure adherence to systems engineering processes throughout the program lifecycle
- Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans
- Coordinate system engineering activities, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, and testing
- Conduct system-level trade studies and performance analysis
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer presentations
- Support program management with technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs architectural exploration
- Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics) and 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience
- EW/Radar system development, including requirements decomposition, architecture definition, and system-level integration & verification planning
- Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as requirements, specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification/validation (V&V) plans
- Experience supporting system-level technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and coordinating across multi-disciplinary engineering teams
