Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer specializes in and manages the operations of networking systems related to network connectivity, WAN, LAN, SDWAN, and Wi-Fi. This role is accountable to configure, deploy and troubleshoot systems as well as research new technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure that networks operate efficiently. The Senior Network engineer is responsible for all of the administration tasks associated with the Corporate Wide Area Network and Local Area Network.

This includes administrative support of the firewalls, routers, switches, wireless networking, network security, and maintenance and monitoring of those devices and services across Brands network environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support of the Local Area Networks including IP addressing, VLANS, switches and wireless controllers and access points
• Provides administrative support of the wide area networks including Firewalls, VPN tunnels, MPLS, routers, BGP and EIGRP dynamic routing protocols
• Establishes guidelines, designs and methods for the installation, maintenance and management of remote networks supporting Corporate Offices as well as Retail locations globally. This includes and is not limited to QOS for VOIP phone system including router bandwidth prioritization and traffic shaping
• Responsible for 24x7 network monitoring and response for global Deckers Brands networks. Interfacing with telcom carriers and 3rdParty support partners as needed to ensure service interruptions are addressed in a timely fashion
• Adept at planning, organization and documentation of complex system design activities and capable of configuring systems to be consistent with corporate policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing and across multiple levels of users and colleagues; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

At least 5-10 Years of Experience in Network Administration

Additional Position Details

• Build and maintain the operations of all networking equipment, LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi systems to ensure availability for the enterprise.

• Manages the day-to-day operations of network equipment by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair.

• Experienced with Cisco networking, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Meraki switching and routing,

• Leverage optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of all networking systems.

• Follows guidelines and methods for the installation and management of networking equipment and other components.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues related to network, WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi.

• Works with vendors to assist with network support activities.

• Implement and maintain a systems business impact assessment to prioritize system recovery in the event of a failure.

• Build and implement network standards for WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi systems.

• Train Jr. Network Administrator on setting up network environments.

• Train the technical support staff on solving common network-related problems.

• Work with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills.

Ability to function calmly in high pressure situations such as network outages/service interruptions

• Maintains up to date and accurate documentation.
