Job Summary
You will be the Sr Process Technician located at Santa Barbara Focal plane in Goleta, California. The team oversees Detector/Semiconductor Fabrication, Focal Plane Array, Microelectronics, and/or Electronics.
What You Will Be DoingAs a Senior Process Technician, you will work on Integrated Detector Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDDCA) manufacturing and test. Responsibilities include precision mechanical manufacturing and assembly in a clean room environment (Class 100, 1000, 10000), operating sensitive welding equipment, semi‑automated ovens, cleaning, high‑precision metrology and inspection systems, and vacuum equipment.
You will assist in all aspects of semiconductor device processes, including photoresist application, wet chemical etching, maintaining clean‑room standards, handling hazardous chemicals safely, entering production data, collaborating with production and research engineering, and coordinating with other semiconductor fabrication functions.
Responsibilities- Photoresist application, delineation, removal, and preparation for etching semiconductor surfaces and patterns in dielectric and metal films; maintain Class 100 clean‑room cleanliness.
- Safe handling of hazardous chemicals and chemical waste.
- Enter process information into production and engineering databases.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and research staff to design and execute projects that improve process controls and develop new device processes.
- Interface and coordinate with engineers and technicians in thin‑film coating, dicing, assembly, and test operations.
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to handle small components and excellent eye/hand coordination.
- Strong oral and written communication for documenting processes, engineering‑directed failure analysis, evaluations, and rework.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with Integrated Detector Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDDCA) manufacturing and test.
- Precision mechanical manufacturing and assembly in a clean‑room environment (Class 100, 1000, 10000).
- Utilization of sensitive welding equipment, semi‑automated ovens, wire bonding, cleaning, high‑precision metrology and inspection systems, and vacuum equipment.
Must be a U.S. citizen and qualified for a Secret clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Work ScheduleSecond shift; initial training on the first shift. Schedule is 4x10‑hour day with 3 days off per week.

Compensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary range: $41,100 – $72,450 (California, Massachusetts, New York – non‑mega‑area cities). For other states the range reflects the final work location.
