LocationSanta Barbara Focal plane, Goleta, California. The role is on‑site; second shift with initial training performed during first shift.
DescriptionSenior Process Technician responsible for Integrated Detector Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDDCA) manufacturing and testing. Duties involve precision mechanical manufacturing and assembly in clean‑room environments (Class 100 – 10,000) and use of sensitive welding equipment, semi‑automated ovens, high‑precision metrology, and vacuum systems.
What You Will Be Doing- Apply, delineate, and remove photoresist; prepare and use wet chemical processes for etching semiconductor, dielectric, and metal films.
- Operate and maintain class 100 clean‑room equipment, ensuring cleanliness requirements are met.
- Handle hazardous chemicals safely and manage chemical waste.
- Enter process data into production and engineering databases.
- Collaborate with production supervision, production engineering, and research engineering to design and execute process improvement projects.
- Coordinate with engineers and technicians in related semiconductor fabrication areas such as thin‑film coating, dicing, and assembly and test operations.
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to handle small components with excellent eye/hand coordination.
- Strong oral and written communication for documentation, standard‑process work, failure analysis, and rework.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience with Integrated Detector Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDDCA) manufacturing and test.
- Proficiency in precision mechanical manufacturing and assembly in clean‑room environments (Class 100–10,000).
- Familiarity with sensitive welding equipment, semi‑automated ovens, wire bonding, cleaning, high‑precision metrology, inspection systems, and vacuum equipment.
High School or GED.
Security ClearanceU.S. citizenship required. Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Work Schedule4×10‑hour day schedule, 3 days off per week.
Pay RateAnnual base salary range: $41,100 – $72,450 (state‑dependent). The salary reflects the final work location and is a general guideline.
