Location:

75 Coromar Dr, BLDG B02, Goleta, CA, USA

Shift: First Shift: 8:00am–4:30pm (Onsite)

U.S. citizenship is required. The employee must obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance at the Secret level (DoD); an active existing clearance is required after day
1.

What You Will Do
  • Cleaning of optics and chambers.
  • PVD and metal preparation and deposition.
  • Metrology, including spectral or metal thickness evaluation.
  • Reading technical drawings, evaluating, interpreting, and performing defect inspection.
  • Troubleshooting, experimenting, and contributing technically to the failure analysis of processes or parts, internal and external to the factory.
  • Cross‑functional communication and teamwork to track WIP, move production, and address process anomalies in a timely manner.
  • When applicable, work on development efforts with process engineers.
  • Develop or update documentation, create reports, or log data as needed.
Qualifications
  • AA or AS degree or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training.
  • Minimum 8years of relevant experience in an optical deposition laboratory.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain required security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical lead, with strong problem‑solving, leadership, and technical collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work safely with deposition processing equipment, chemicals, and raw materials in a laboratory setting with basic gowning requirements.
  • Comfortable operating deposition production equipment independently while accurately following detailed process instructions.
  • Understanding of run data, run errors, troubleshooting fixes, and commitment to resolving issues to maintain successful production.
  • Intermediate computer skills for data recording, report creation, work delegation, and documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, design, and execute experiments to determine root cause.
  • Understanding of FOD and FOD reduction methods and concerns.
