An Operation's Master Technician (T6) within Focal Plane Operations works under minimal supervision or independently, provides advanced technical skills/techniques for manufacturing operations, and adapts to new procedures/techniques. They work collaboratively with area leads and use their extensive experience to solve highly complex problems, perform training or hands-on processing while serving as a technical resource for operations. Master Technicians are recognized as subject matter experts within multiple work cells or stages and routinely execute complex assignments independently to include evaluation of workmanship inside the work cell.
They demonstrate exceptional problem-solving, communication, planning, and organizational skills. They drive process improvements, documentation accuracy, factory readiness, lead time reduction and continuous improvement. This is a 100% onsite position. 1st Shift: 6AM-2:30PM (PST) in Goleta, California. This is an onsite position.
- Actively participate in a Safety-First work environment.
- Work in a Class 100 cleanroom while wearing a full bunny suit under yellow lighting.
- Work collaboratively with area leads.
- Serve as a technical resource for operators, engineers, and support organizations.
- Provides hands-on support for hardware processing.
- Factory liaison for TAKT goals on Tier boards.
- Where certified review plannings and Base OIs prior to release to help catch errors; and/or review released documents and bring attention to errors ahead of WIP being impacted.
- Execute/coordinate Engineering and Lab Work Orders (EWOs and LWOs) to facilitate quick turn processing and increased cycles of learning.
- Perform inspections to aid process engineering in steps that require trained assessments and perform 2nd inspections where needed.
- Assist Process Engineering on special projects with supervisor approval.
- Factory POC for relevant holds to facilitate closure with the appropriate function.
- Locate missing material and implement improvements to mitigate missing material occurrences.
- Expand their certifications to technically cover more work cells.
- Factory POC for value stream mapping efforts and time studies.
- Monitor work cell processing supplies and tooling (examples ARC masks, LCCs, Dice blades, frame handlers).
- Execute preparation for factory audits.
- Work to resolve paperwork issues for planning, Eyelit, Change Orders, EWOs and LWOs.
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training).
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Has experience in MS Office (Excel).
- More than ten years of production experience in cleanroom fabrication, assembly, manufacturing or equivalent.
- Experience in Hybridization, Thin Film Deposition, Photolithography, Wet Etch, or other cleanroom Focal Plane Array, fabrication work cells.
- Ability to multitask.
- Extensive knowledge/certifications for multiple work cells in the FPO area.
- Significant experience with the EYELIT WIP tracking database.
- The flexibility to work occasional, voluntary overtime on weekends to meet the factory's needs is strongly desired.

The salary range for this role is 73,500 USD - 139,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
