Raytheon Vision System Staff Technician

Raytheon Vision System is hiring a staff technician for the special fabrication lab. The technician will report to the Supervisor and team leader of that designed lab for support tasks.

This position involves directly working with multiple teams and multiple areas. There will be cross functional daily tasks that are required to support. They possess excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, and routinely demonstrate an ability to prioritize their work, multitask and schedule their time. Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced team environment and be comfortable starting new tasks at any time.

What You Will Do

• Perform window soldering using RF equipment and vacuum soldering techniques.
• Perform leak checks on windows and assemblies using appropriate test equipment and procedures.
• Rigorously follow written procedures, work instructions, and established quality standards.
• Perform detailed work using a microscope and a variety of small hand tools.
• Accurately document and log all work performed, including test results and production activities.
• Crosstrain in additional manufacturing processes and support team operations as needed.
• Utilize strong interpersonal communication skills with peers, leads, support teams and management.
• This is a 2nd shift, onsite position in Goleta, CA.

Qualifications You Must Have

• AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Experience performing precision soldering, including RF and/or vacuum soldering techniques.
• Experience performing leak checks using appropriate testing equipment and procedures.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with IR Systems, Focal Plane Assembly packaging processes
• Strong attention to detail and visual acuity
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Working in a very fast paced environment, must be willing to adapt to several tasks daily

The salary range for this role is 58,400 USD - 111,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
