Job Overview

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is a national non‑profit organization providing services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Nurse Manager position – located in Goleta, CA – oversees nursing staff, collaborates with physicians and the treatment team, and ensures quality nursing services.

• Communicate with physicians regarding clients’ needs, nursing assessments and recommendations.
• Collaborate with nurses and the treatment team to ensure clients’ well‑being.
• Hire and manage nursing staff.
• Perform assessments and evaluations for potential clients and develop nursing care plans.
• Teach medication administration to staff on a monthly basis.
• Educate clients, families and others on health, well‑being and disease prevention.
• Attend resident meetings as needed and provide health related updates to the team and family.
• Act as liaison with on‑call physicians, community medical providers and independent contractors, ensuring delivery of quality nursing services.

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in California.
• Graduate of an approved nursing school.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing patient care.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses preferred.
