Position OverviewWe have a current opportunity for a Contractor - Quality Task Administrator and Back-up Inspector located at our facility in Goleta, CA for a period up to 6 months. In this role you will coordinate and operate several key quality management system areas and, as a back-up inspector, perform in-process inspections and receiving inspections of aerospace parts.
Responsibilities- As Quality Task Administrator: Coordinate, supervise, and operate specific quality management system tasks and functions; ensure training, auditing, calibration, supplier quality assurance, continuous improvement and related activities are carried out in accordance with the quality management system.
- Manage day-to-day coordination and administration of tasks, maintaining quality and productivity standards while meeting schedules.
- Coordinate with contract and subcontract personnel to ensure work moves smoothly between functional areas.
- Provide written quality management system management plans, instructions, task status analyses, cost reports, and related documents.
- Ensure administrative tools are effectively used to control and accomplish tasks.
- Assist with writing procedures and other documentation.
- Manage status and task management reports for areas of responsibility.
- As a Back-up Inspector: Perform receiving inspection of purchased parts and subassemblies; verify supplier compliance with purchase order requirements, specifications and drawing requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspections using hand-held instruments to verify drawing requirements.
- Perform in-process inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements; verify data entries.
- Perform finals inspections and liaise with the Program Quality Engineer; assist in investigation of non-conformities.
- Accurately document inspection results.
- Review work orders prior to closure to verify parts, kit lists, labeling, and data for End Item Data Package.
- Perform source inspections at sub-tier suppliers as needed.
- High school diploma required.
- General knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and methods.
- 5+ years in manufacturing and/or quality; 4+ years with quality management systems (e.g., AS9100/ISO
9001), including training, auditing, supplier quality assurance, continuous improvement and calibration. - 3+ years in quality inspection, preferably in a high-reliability, small-batch, high-variety environment.
- Experience in training and education in quality management systems, quality control, and manufacturing environments.
- Experience conducting quality management system audits and supplier quality assurance; experience with continuous improvement and calibration processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and quality management software/tools. US Citizen or US Person per ITAR.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with aerospace technology, products, and processes.
- Quality management system certifications.

How We Determine What We Pay:
Redwire determines pay using local, national, and industry survey data. Salaries are based on experience, education, and skills, with consideration of external market rate and internal equity.
All offers are contingent on background check and proof of eligibility to work in the US. Some positions require US citizenship or ability to obtain a security clearance for classified programs.
