Job Overview

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Test Engineer – Level 2 to join the Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit in Goleta, CA. The role is 100% onsite and requires presence during designated shifts.

• Design, develop, and implement test methods and equipment.
• Plan and arrange labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluation of standard and special devices.
• Compile test data and define changes required in equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
• Conduct testing of all customer samples and special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
• Perform product testing, coordinating test planning, setup, execution, data reduction, test reporting, and post‑data processing.
• Integrate products with test tooling, software, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Support test data collection, post‑test data review, reporting, and verification of test requirements.
• Produce technical documentation and assist in technical writing.
• Participate and present in internal and external customer reviews.
• Leverage modern tools and methods to reduce cost and schedule of product testing.
• Accountable to the Operations Test Engineering Manager for meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations of internal and external customers.
• Support working multiple shifts (7am–4:45pm, 2:30pm–midnight).

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of test experience.
• Master’s Degree in a STEM field with test experience.
• Experience troubleshooting test equipment, tooling, and harnesses.
• Experience with testing automation or lean manufacturing/testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated technical writing and/or procedure development skills.
• Ability to travel between the Oxnard and Goleta sites and support customers (approximately 10%).
• U.S. citizenship preferred.

• 3+ years of specific test engineering experience.
• Proficiency in test automation software such as LabVIEW.
• Proficiency in measuring and controlling electronic components (motors, actuators, sensors, load transducers, etc.).
• Experience in aerospace or aeronautical industry.
• Excellent presentation, oral, written, and listening skills.
• Self‑motivated, with ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently or in an integrated team and adapt to dynamic requirements.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
