Minimum qualifications:
* PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Experience with Python for data acquisition and analysis.
* One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories (such as Physical Review, AAAS, Nature and npj, etc.).
Preferred qualifications:
* Experience with control and characterization of quantum devices.
* Experience executing quantum error correction (QEC) experiments.
* Track record of publication in scientific journals or participation in conferences.

Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $147000 - $211000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
* Conceptualize, design, and execute experiments that identify and isolate physical error mechanisms impacting quantum error correction algorithms.
* Develop data analysis tools and methods to parse and process large, high-dimensional quantum error correction datasets.
* Support and inform qubit design teams to integrate new technologies that mitigate these physical error mechanisms.
* Collaborate with modeling and theory teammates to co-design experiments backed with models that have strong predictive capabilities.
