Overview
Lead Facilities Technician – HVAC Mechanic (Lead Tech – Facilities) is a critical role on the RTX Enterprise Services Facilities Team located in Goleta, CA. The primary focus is reliable operation and preventive maintenance of building systems within a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity.

Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC units, motors, water pumps, scrubbers, and other facility equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment including large chillers, pumps, vacuum systems, and cleanroom air handlers.
- Operate under safety standards and support predictive and preventive maintenance programs for optimal site performance.
- Lead small‑scale projects and coordinate with teams to meet operational goals.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications to resolve equipment issues.
- Assist colleagues using manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Lifting 40-50 pounds required.
- Adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Minimum 8 years of applicable experience in corporate facilities maintenance or industrial setting.
- Associate’s degree (AS/AA) or equivalent training/certification.
- 5+ years as an HVAC mechanic with troubleshooting of pneumatic controls, thermostats, VAV boxes, and large air/water chilled systems.
- Experience with pump systems, compressed air, vacuum, cooling towers, and water distribution (RO, filtration).
- Experience maintaining large custom and cleanroom air handlers in electronics and environmental labs.
- Active California driver’s license.
- Knowledge of small hand tools and maintenance best practices.
- Familiarity with MS Office Business Suite.
- Experience with building automation and control programs.
