International Logistics Coordinator
Goleta, CA.
Contract to Hire position based out of Goleta, California. This is a fully onsite position.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail‑oriented International Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize our international shipping operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with global trade regulations and facilitate seamless product movement across borders.
Responsibilities- Classify products using appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), and Schedule B codes.
- Maintain and update product classification databases.
- Collaborate with product and legal teams to ensure accurate classification and documentation.
- Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other export/import documentation.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade laws, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations.
- Monitor and implement changes in international shipping regulations and tariffs.
- Investigate and resolve customs holds, carrier delays, and documentation discrepancies.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government agencies to expedite shipments.
- Track and report on shipping issues and trends to improve processes.
- Develop and implement best practices for international shipping and customs clearance.
- Support automation and system improvements for shipping documentation and tracking.
- Train internal teams on international shipping procedures and compliance.
- 3+ years of experience in international shipping, logistics, or trade compliance.
- Strong knowledge of HTS, ECCN, and Schedule B codes.
- Familiarity with global trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC, etc.).
- Experience with ERP and shipping software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fed Ex, UPS, DHL platforms).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Incoterms.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- 7:00 AM Start Time, Monday – Friday.
- Flexibility on overtime required.
Contract to Hire.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
