Full-Time Accounting & Business Instructor
River Parishes Community College is an open admission institution that partners with the communities and businesses of the river parishes region of Louisiana to provide workforce training, certificates, diplomas, and Associate Degrees. This is a 9-month, full-time position. Instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles), as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs may include face-to-face/online and/or evening classes. Full-time faculty are expected to actively serve on campus committees, participate in campus activities, and participate in student advising and recruitment.
Starting at $42,000; may increase depending upon years of college teaching experience and education. Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in accounting OR master's degree (in any discipline) and 18 graduate semester hours in accounting OR Certified Public Accountant with a master's degree (in any discipline). Official transcripts must be submitted.
- Preference given to applicants who can also be credentialed to teach other BUSN and/or CPTR courses:
- BUSN:
Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) OR master's degree (in any discipline) with 18 graduate semester hours in one or any combination of the following fields: business, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing. Official transcripts must be submitted. - CPTR:
Master's degree in computer science, information systems, information/education technology, or business-related discipline OR Master's degree (in any discipline) AND one or more computer science, information systems, or information/education technology certification(s). Official transcripts must be submitted. - Satisfactory background check – an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Proficiencies in classroom technologies (podium computer, laptop, iPad, and SMARTBoard) and use of Canvas LMS
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse student populations.
