The Part-Time Mathematics Academic Coach provides academic coaching, tutoring, and targeted intervention services to students enrolled in mathematics courses. The Academic Coach works collaboratively with mathematics faculty and Student Success Coaches to identify and support students experiencing academic challenges, improve course completion, and increase student success and retention.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary or postsecondary level.
- Demonstrated ability to explain mathematical concepts to students with varying academic backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn institutional software systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between RPCC campuses as needed.
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
- College-level mathematics teaching experience.
- Experience tutoring developmental and college-level mathematics.
- Experience working with diverse student populations in a community college setting.
- Experience utilizing student success technologies, learning management systems, or early alert software.
