Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing
The Cloud Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, and strategic evolution of REV’s cloud and virtualization infrastructure. This role leads the architecture of AWS, VMware, and Open Stack environments, and oversees core services such as DNS, DHCP, and core ISP services. The Cloud Architect collaborates across departments to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure supporting REV’s operational and customer-facing systems.
ESSENTIALDUTIES, FUNCTIONS &
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead architecture and management of cloud platforms such as AWS including IAM policies, hybrid on‑prem and cloud networking utilizing Direct Connect, Cost Optimization, Serverless Deployments, and RDS
- Guide virtualization strategy and platform selection (VMware, Open Stack, etc.)
- Own design and integration of core infrastructure services: DNS, DHCP, IPAM (Bluecat), and other core ISP services
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, PCI‑DSS, GDPR) and internal security policies
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity team to develop incident response plans for cloud‑related threats.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment on compute, storage, and backup architecture
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
- Develop long‑term cloud strategy and roadmap in coordination with leadership
- Serve as technical liaison with cloud vendors and MSPs
- Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness
- Mentor and support server engineers on cloud technologies and best practices
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES- 8+ years in cloud architecture, Linux systems administration, or infrastructure engineering
- Deep expertise in AWS environments
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Open Stack)
- Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, authentication protocols, and IPAM systems
- Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code and automation tools
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or closely related field
- Experience with Telecommunications operations
