Overview
Apave America is seeking a full-time NDT Technician in the Marrero, Louisiana area. The ideal candidate is an experienced tank inspector who specializes in the construction and maintenance of tanks and is certified in MFL, MT, and UT, with Vacuum Box training.
Responsibilities- Perform NDT inspections and interpret test data according to relevant codes and standards.
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment, conduct tests using MFL, MT, UT, and vacuum boxes, and identify defects.
- Apply technical expertise to select appropriate NDT methods for specific applications and ensure proper testing procedures.
- Document inspection results with detailed reports, including findings, photographs, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASNT guidelines), applicable codes, and client specifications.
- Maintain the accuracy and reliability of NDT inspections through quality checks and equipment calibration.
- Communicate and collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and other personnel to discuss inspection requirements, findings, and corrective actions.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in various environments, including confined spaces or at heights.
- MT, MFL, and UT certifications are required.
- Vacuum Box training is highly preferred.
- API 653 certification is highly preferred.
- Valid State , pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, and pre-employment background checks are required.
- Move, carry, and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb as part of the role.
- Remain active throughout the shift.
- Vision abilities including close and distance vision.
