Summary
Gooding High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Art Teacher to inspire creativity and artistic expression among our diverse student body. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, encouraging students to explore their artistic talents and develop their skills across various mediums. This role requires a commitment to cultivating a love for the arts while integrating relevant curriculum standards and promoting critical thinking.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging art lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
- Teach a variety of artistic techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them improve their skills.
- Organize and oversee art exhibitions, contests, and other events to showcase student work and promote the arts within the school community.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Maintain an organized and well-equipped art studio, ensuring that all materials and supplies are available for student use.
- Stay current with art education trends, techniques, and technologies, incorporating them into the curriculum as appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and opportunities for involvement in the arts.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the school community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Must have a valid teaching certification or license in Art Education for the state of Idaho.
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, materials, and tools.
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A portfolio showcasing personal artistic work and previous student projects is preferred.
- Passion for art education and a commitment to fostering a positive and creative learning environment.
-Must pass a background check through the State Department of Education.
