Job Summary

The tower coordinator will ensure the efficient running of the cheese towers packaging line. Assure product meets quality and customer specifications through adherence to procedures and programs. Coordinate and organize the work of the operators in the tower and packaging areas.

Essential Functions
  • Assist supervisor in efficient running of the cheese tower deck and belts
  • Ensure proper flow of cheese production from belts to packing
  • Collaborate with warehouse to keep proper product flow
  • Trouble shooting and repair of plant equipment
  • Ensure plant meets, and employees follow current GMP standards
  • Fill in for operators as needed
  • Give breaks to tower deck operator
  • Ensure paperwork and checks are completed in the tower deck area
  • Assure product meets customer specifications
  • Assist with conducting bi-weekly safety, and quality toolbox meetings
  • Assist plant management in projects as assigned
  • Attend monthly production meetings (business review)
  • Work in accordance with Glanbia core values

  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Requires prior experience and knowledge of cheese plant operations
  • Ability to run, or learn to run and troubleshoot equipment including towers, sealers, packaging line and box making
  • Desire to grow with the company
  • Willingness to attend training classes as needed
  • Excellent people and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work night shift
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
Physical Demands
  • Frequently (51-75%) use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently (57-75%) walk, lift and/or move 26 to 60 lbs.
  • Frequently (57-75%) stand, sit, talk or hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point);

    depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
Typical Environmental Conditions

May be exposed to ___85+______ noise levels in which hearing protection will be needed.
