Summary:

The FEI Trainer & Technical Assistance Consultant supports statewide implementation of the Family Empowerment Initiative by coordinating and delivering training, coaching, technical assistance, consultation, and skills development for families, Peer Support Specialists, Grant Partners, service delivery teams, and community stakeholders. The position advances family engagement, parenting skills, family empowerment, System of Care values, resiliency, recovery, cultural responsiveness, and evidence-based or evidence-informed practices while serving as a point of contact for FEI training and technical assistance activities.

  • Coordinate, prepare, schedule, and deliver statewide training, coaching, technical assistance, consultation, and skills-development activities for eligible families, Peer Support Specialists, Grant Partners, service delivery teams, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide Certified Family Support Specialist Competency Course training to qualified applicants at no charge and support related certification and workforce-development activities.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate at least one Certified Family Support Specialist Competency Course and one Parent-to-Parent Advocacy training each quarter.
  • In collaboration with CPRS and CYAPSS program leadership, assist with coordination of CPRS and CYAPSS Competency Course training each quarter.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate quarterly offerings of Nurturing Parenting, Strengthening Families and Youth Mental Health First Aid.
  • Conduct a minimum of four trainings per quarter for Family Support Specialist Coalition regional teams.
  • Coordinate FEI orientation and training for new FEI team members at least twice per year, or more frequently when needed and approved by the State.
  • Adapt delivery methods for face-to-face, telephone, and HIPAA-compliant web-based platforms while maintaining fidelity to approved curricula and requirements.
  • Technical Assistance, Consultation & Fidelity Support
    • Assess statewide training and technical assistance needs and collaborate with program leadership and State partners to establish responsive training, consultation, community, and reporting calendars.
    • Provide individualized technical assistance and consultation to Grant Partners implementing family engagement, peer support, parenting education, family empowerment, and related FEI practices.
    • Assist Grant Partners with developing and implementing support groups for families, youth, and young adults.
    • Coordinate training logistics, including location, enrollment, scheduling, participant communication, materials, technology, and accessibility needs.
    • Support ongoing fidelity monitoring, continuous improvement, and consistent implementation of approved curricula and peer-support best practices.
    • Consult at least monthly with the designated FEI State lead through meetings, phone calls, and email to review emerging needs, assistance provided, and progress toward implementation.
