Advanced Billing Consultants, a medical billing and practice management firm in Peabody, MA, seeks a Director of IT Infrastructure & Security to lead secure, reliable technology operations. This role designs and manages networks, servers, cloud services, and security controls that protect PHI and support 24/7 billing operations. You will develop and enforce security policies, oversee access management, backups, and disaster recovery, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

The director will manage vendors, guide audits and risk assessments, mentor a small IT team, and evaluate new technologies. This client-focused role partners closely with operations and leadership to support performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of secure IT infrastructure supporting medical billing operations
  • Manage network, servers, cloud services, and endpoint security to ensure high availability and performance
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
  • Oversee identity and access management, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, incidents, and threats; coordinate response and remediation
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and security partners
  • Establish and track IT and security KPIs; prepare reports for leadership and clients as needed
  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT team members; coordinate cross-functional technology projects
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance documentation for clients and internal operations
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve security, reliability, and efficiency
