Seasonal Tax Preparer

• Prepare 1040 forms for individual income tax returns
• File tax returns electronically or by mail
• Maintain accurate records of tax returns and related documents
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Calculate tax liabilities and refunds
• Identify and apply applicable tax deductions, credits, and exemptions
• Perform detailed tax return reviews, research, and compliance work
• Maintain technical tax skills through continuing education and training
• Perform tax research where appropriate
• Collect and organize tax-related documents
• Enter document data into tax preparation software
• Communicate directly with clients and provide tax guidance
• Record billable time for client billing and invoicing

• 1 year of relevant experience in tax return preparation preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree preferred
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Ability to prepare 1040 forms for individual income tax returns
• Ability to use tax preparation software
• Ability to communicate directly with clients and provide tax guidance
• Ability to record billable time in a billing system
