GTI Fabrication designs and manufactures custom modular enclosures, energy systems, and industrial structures for energy, defense, and heavy-industrial markets. As GTI scales production and expands our product portfolio, the alignment between future customer demand and operational capacity has become critical to our long-term success.
Position OverviewTo support our rapid growth, GTI is hiring a Global Demand Planner to serve as the strategic bridge between Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Production Control, and Finance. This individual will ensure accurate visibility into upcoming customer programs, forecast long-range demand, and validate whether GTI has the labor, equipment, materials, and manufacturing capacity required to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities Demand Forecasting & Pipeline Visibility- Partner with Business Development to collect, track, and interpret upcoming opportunities, RFPs, contract awards, and program expansions.
- Build long-range demand models (12–36 months) for new and existing customers.
- Translate BD pipeline data into forecasted volumes, revenue expectations, and production start dates.
- Create and maintain dashboards showing demand by customer, product line, and program lifecycle.
- Develop capacity models to determine labor, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing hours required to support forecasted demand.
- Compare upcoming program needs to GTI’s available fabrication, welding, assembly, electrical, machining, and integration capacity.
- Identify constraints (labor shortages, bottleneck work centers, equipment limitations, vendor supply challenges) and propose mitigation strategies.
- Partner with Production Control and Operations leadership to validate that schedules, layouts, and staffing align with upcoming workload.
- Run “what-if” scenarios to evaluate the impact of new business wins, schedule shifts, or scope changes.
- Support GTI’s strategic planning efforts by providing accurate demand signals for hiring plans, tooling investments, and capital expenditure decisions.
- Assess whether GTI can support new opportunities without over committing or impacting existing programs.
- Serve as the forecasting liaison between Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Provide demand-driven insights to Engineering for NPI planning, long-lead materials, and engineering resource allocation.
- Partner with Supply Chain to generate long-term material demand signals and reduce supply risk.
- Deliver forecast updates to executive leadership with clear risk indicators and confidence levels.
- Maintain standardized demand planning tools, reports, and methodologies.
- Develop KPI dashboards that track forecast accuracy, pipeline conversion rates, and capacity utilization.
- Provide monthly and quarterly forecasting updates to executive leadership.
- Ensure alignment between CRM/BD pipeline data and Operations planning systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Finance, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in Demand Planning, S&OP, Capacity Planning, or Program Planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar forecasting tools.
- Experience translating pipeline activity into operational requirements.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, welding, assembly, machining, and electrical integration.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in high-mix, engineered-to-order manufacturing.
- Background in S&OP, MRP/ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Familiarity with forecasting models, scenario planning, and resource modeling.
- Ability to work with Business Development and Operations simultaneously.
- Advanced Power BI or analytics expertise.
- GTI has accurate, forward-looking visibility into upcoming business demand.
- Leadership clearly understands whether upcoming work exceeds, matches, or under utilizes manufacturing capacity.
- No over commitments to customers due to lack of resourcing.
- Operations receives proactive signals for hiring, materials, and equipment needs.
- BD, Operations, and Finance are aligned around a unified demand plan.
