  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or another scientific discipline.
  • 8-10+ years of microbiology experience within Food & Beverage manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership experience managing laboratory personnel and technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, environmental monitoring, and microbiological testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading CAPA investigations, audit preparation, and regulatory compliance activities.

Our client, a leading manufacturer within the food and consumer products industry, is seeking an experienced Microbiology Manager to lead all microbiological quality systems for a large-scale manufacturing facility. This leader will oversee laboratory operations, provide technical expertise on microbiological programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety standards while developing a high-performing team.

In This Role, You Will
  • Direct all microbiology laboratory operations supporting manufacturing and quality objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership for microbiological testing of raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, environmental monitoring, and utility systems.
  • Lead investigations involving microbiological issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive improvements in laboratory processes, testing methods, productivity, and overall operational performance.
  • Oversee laboratory budgets, resource planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Serve as the site's technical authority for microbiology and partner with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership.
  • Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal quality assessments while ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain laboratory documentation, testing protocols, and quality systems in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop laboratory professionals while fostering a culture centered on food safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
