Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a General Education Teacher who will motivate students to achieve academic excellence through a back‑to‑basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and en Vision Math.
Responsibilities- Implement instructional activities to engage students in meaningful learning.
- Identify, select, and adapt instructional resources for diverse backgrounds and learning styles, including special needs.
- Use direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities promoting social, physical, and intellectual growth.
- Assist in assessing curricular needs and provide improvement plans.
- Maintain effective record‑keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and professionals.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards with students, parents, peers, and the community.
- Ensure continuous student growth and achievement appropriate for age group, subject area, and program classification.
- Participate in training and staff meetings.
- Meet professional obligations such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings.
- Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate accomplishments.
- Encourage students to uphold values and model mature behavior and good character.
- Be active in light lifting, sitting, standing, walking across campus, and traveling to other campuses as required; participate in events outside normal hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- Current teaching certificate from the state.
- Travel between campuses occasionally.
- Lift objects up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- May require sitting for long periods, talking on phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long concentration.
