Compensation
  • Hourly Pay Rate Range: $20.00
  • Additional Hourly Pay Rate: $2.00 per license
Job Summary

The Aircraft Teardown Technician will perform aircraft disassembly which includes the proper and safe removal of aircraft parts, components, subcomponents, including but not limited to panels, electrical wires, valves, actuators, accumulators, fire bottles, pneumatic ducts, hydraulic lines, control cables, flight control surfaces, seats, galleys, and lavatories. This is all done following AFRA Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association guidelines and manufacturers manuals, as necessary.

The proper removal, transportation and storage of these parts is critical to customer satisfaction and loss of revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Remove aircraft parts, components, subcomponents, including but not limited to panels, electrical wires, valves, actuators, accumulators, fire bottles, pneumatic ducts, hydraulic lines, control cables, flight control surfaces, seats, galleys, and lavatories.
  • Complete all tasks to the quality standards of Aer Sale AFRA and our customers’ requirements.
  • Perform disassembly work within estimated or budgeted hours.
  • Read and use manuals as required and directed to ensure safe and proper removal according to AFRA best practices as applicable.
  • Ensure that Aer Sale, Inc. and customer aircraft maintenance documents are accurate and properly annotated.
  • Ensure that all parts are kept secure within the confines of Aer Sale property as it is against federal law to allow any part not serviceable to be re‑introduced into the supply chain without proper certification. Ensure that all parts deemed scrap are properly destroyed or altered to a point in which they cannot be re‑introduced into supply chain.
  • Use and safely operate all ground support equipment, (i.e., Main Lifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.) and possess Aer Sale, Inc. operating certification.
  • Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to ensure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the Aer Sale, Inc. applicable locations Safety Manual.
  • Responsible for the proper execution of parts tags attached to as removed and condemned parts. In some cases, during the disassembly process grease pencils may be used while removals are in process, always refer to your location’s procedures and manuals.
  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments and co‑workers.
  • Keep own and adjacent work area clean.
  • Ensure that, if necessary, lock out Tag out (LOTO) Policy is followed.
  • Follow all ESDS Electro Safety Sensitive Devices are properly removed, capped and plugged along with as necessary ESDS bagged with approved bagging material.
  • Able to work any or all shifts.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Mechanical background preferred.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, verification of credentials, and a urinary preemployment test for drugs as per DOT regulations.
  • Depending on location, you may be required to pass the required background checks for TSA, FBI, etc. to obtain an airport issued badge such as SIDA, AOA, or any other badge required by the airport authority. If required by…
