Summary
- The Auxiliary Operator Trainee is expected to complete qualifications within assigned time frames.
- Operates mechanical and electrical equipment for which qualification has been completed for the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must pass EEI POSS testing.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
- Water/Wastewater experience, technical Water/Wastewater program certification or associate degree in Water/Wastewater preferred.
- ADEQ Level 1 Water and Wastewater certification preferred.
- Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
- This is a condition of employment at PVNGS.
- Roles and responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.
- Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short‑notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
- Completes qualification to operate equipment within assigned time frame.
- Operates all major and auxiliary plant equipment at Water Reclamation Facility in areas for which qualification is completed.
- Monitors, reads and records instruments and equipment in areas for which qualification is completed.
- Notifies WRF Control Operator of any problems.
- Communicates with the WRF Control Room regarding WRF plant status and conditions on an ongoing basis in areas where qualifications have been completed.
- Implements station safety tagging and clearance procedures to ensure safe working conditions for personnel and equipment.
- Maintains awareness and understanding of plant procedures, government regulations, system operation and design changes.
- Maintains qualifications per Palo Verde Training continuing training programs when qualifications are complete in one or more areas.
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, "U.S. Export Control Laws"). Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, this may include, but is not limited to, working at a power plant, job site, or in the community.
