GTI Energy is seeking a Global Sourcing Manager to lead global sourcing and buying activities for the Electrical spend category supporting manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for category strategy development, supplier selection, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and long-term supply continuity across domestic and international markets.
The Global Sourcing Manager - Electrical will support a multi-plant manufacturing company in the fast-paced and dynamic Electrical materials category. This role requires strong commercial acumen, supplier negotiation expertise, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and NPI.
Key Responsibilities Global Category Strategy & Ownership- Own end-to-end category management strategy for the Electrical Power and Controls Materials spend category
- Develop multi-year sourcing roadmaps aligned with GTI growth, margin, and operational objectives
- Analyze spend, tariff implications, supplier concentration, market trends, and total cost drivers to optimize sourcing decisions
- Build scalable supply strategies supporting multiple plants, product lines, and new program launches
- Lead RFx and supplier negotiations, commercial terms, and award decisions
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to improve cost, quality, lead time, and geographic diversification
- Drive dual-source and contingency strategies for high‑risk commodities
- Evaluate supplier capabilities related to fabrication, machining, electrical assemblies, logistics, or contract manufacturing as applicable
- Deliver annual cost savings through negotiations, should‑cost analysis, resourcing, design collaboration, and process improvements
- Partner with Engineering on value engineering, alternate materials, and specification optimization
- Improve total landed cost through freight strategy, MOQ optimization, and inventory alignment
- Support margin expansion initiatives through disciplined category management
- Manage supplier scorecards including on‑time delivery, quality performance, responsiveness, cost competitiveness, and capacity readiness
- Escalate and resolve supplier constraints impacting production schedules or customer commitments
- Identify geopolitical, financial, operational, and single‑source risks across the supply base
- Develop supplier recovery plans and executive escalation strategies when needed
- Partner with Engineering on new product introduction (NPI), technical sourcing decisions, and supplier design collaboration
- Work with Operations and Planning teams to ensure material continuity and inventory health
- Collaborate with Quality on supplier audits, corrective actions, PPAP, and qualification readiness
- Align with Finance on gross margin, working capital, and budget targets
- Support sourcing initiatives across domestic and international regions including North America, Mexico, Vietnam, and other strategic markets
- Build supplier ecosystems that support GTI’s hyper‑growth manufacturing footprint
- Travel to supplier sites and GTI facilities as required for audits, negotiations, and relationship management
- Lead Global Procurement Managers and next level Procurement Specialists/Coordinators, supporting the Electrical category
- Develop, mentor, and coach direct reports through learning and development plans
