Position: Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly - Business Unit Support

This position will work closely with a group of engineers dedicated to the support, safety, reliability, and throughput of assembly equipment. They will be part of a larger team made of Quality, Reliability, and Test Engineering focused on driving Safety, Quality, and Delivery.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Possess the desire and the skills to learn about variety of equipment and processes
  • Possess good troubleshooting skills to support maintenance and assembly engineering tech teams
  • Establish safety and quality as top priorities throughout manufacturing practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks and support production needs with limited support
  • Research, develop, and implement new manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Work with outside contractors to coordinate equipment repair, upgrade, or installation
  • Initiate, develop, and implement cost reduction projects to assist the manufacturing plant in achieving operational KPI goals
  • Utilize lean/six sigma principles during project implementation
  • Lead and/or participate in manufacturing capacity increase initiatives to support sales growth
  • Prepare appropriation requests for capital investments and project manage implementation of capital equipment
  • Ensure that the projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Ability to communicate detailed technical information to an audience with various levels of technical understanding
  • Work closely with other engineers on root-cause analysis related to both design and process
  • Suggest design changes to improve Design for Assembly.

This position requires a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. Qualifications Required Education
  • Bachelors or better in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Required Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of assembly concepts and techniques, particularly in lean manufacturing principles.
  • 10+ years Manufacturing experience, preferably in high complexity assembly.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and working knowledge in the use of Solid Works & AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization (internally and externally).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Sense of urgency.
