OverviewJoin our team as a Wastewater Operator I and dive into a world of exciting challenges and opportunities. Your role will involve maintaining water wells, treatment facilities, and distribution pipelines, handling equipment and telemetry devices, and ensuring safety and customer satisfaction while maintaining water quality and addressing community concerns.
Accountabilities- Collaborate with the plant operation team, performing daily maintenance and repair tasks
- Conduct sampling and laboratory testing for regulatory compliance, ensuring our operations meet the highest standards
- Train fellow Operators in technical functions and operations, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Lead the implementation of improvements based on research and recommendations
- Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining open communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Keep the team informed of daily operations, important developments, and work activities
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the delivery of services with the utmost professionalism
- Execute routine and emergency operational, maintenance, construction, and repair functions
- Conduct daily inspections of wastewater treatment facilities and related equipment
- Record equipment and process readings, making adjustments for system flow and stability
- Detect and communicate mechanical or process deficiencies to the supervisor
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
- Experience in plumbing, well operation, or water/wastewater treatment
- ADEQ Grade 1 Operator License in the specific concentration (Wastewater Treatment)
- Valid driver’s license; may require a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with appropriate classification and endorsements
- Ability to read maps, manuals, work orders, and blueprints
- Proficiency in general math calculations and common water-related computations
