We currently have an opening for a Validation Technician/Engineer in our Goodyear, Arizona location. This role is slated for 7am-3pm but has flexibility in schedule if that requires attention.
The Engineering Validation Technician is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role responsible for executing defined validation, testing, installation support, and pre‑release verification activities for electrical, motor, and controller systems. This role is responsible for:
- Executing defined test plans
- Validating deliverables before Engineering‑controlled shipment
- Capturing accurate evidence, observations, and open issues
- Supporting field, manufacturing, and engineering teams with structured, repeatable validation work
- This role also supports Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and Cross‑Functional Product Development.
- Execute defined validation matrices and test procedures for motors, controllers, VFDs, sensors, and related assemblies.
- Support pre‑ship validation for DB / beta units before release to internal or field testing.
- Perform hands‑on wiring, setup, installation and commissioning support for engineering test units.
- Capture pass/fail results, observations, photos, video, and open issues in a clear and repeatable way.
- Help maintain validation records, testing evidence, and shared engineering files.
- Support troubleshooting by filtering and structuring field / shop findings before escalation to engineering.
- Assist in repeatability testing, retesting, and closure verification after changes are made.
- Support engineering, service, and manufacturing teams with practical feedback from real‑world setup and validation.
- With guidance from engineering, learn to connect test observations to common potential failure modes and contribute ideas to troubleshooting discussions.
- Work safely around high‑voltage equipment, motors, and test stands.
- Coordinate with engineering on readiness, test scope, and validation status.
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience with industrial electrical equipment, motors, drives, wiring, or controls.
- Comfortable working with high‑voltage systems and physical test setups.
- Able to read wiring diagrams, schematics, part drawings, and electrical instructions.
- Able to work independently in a shop / lab environment.
- Comfortable using test equipment and following structured test procedures.
- Basic understanding of voltage, current, motors, VFDs, and control devices.
- Able to identify abnormal product behavior and document it clearly.
- Strong practical troubleshooting mindset.
- Good communication and teamwork skills across engineering / manufacturing / service groups.
- Motor / drive / VFD testing experience.
- Manufacturing support or commissioning experience.
- Associate degree or technical training in electrical, mechatronics, or controls is preferred, but equivalent hands‑on experience is also valuable.
