Facilities Coordinator / Chief Engineer
The Facilities Coordinator / Chief Engineer is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations.
Manage and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
Oversee preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain maintenance records.
Supervise maintenance staff and provide training, coaching, and performance support.
Manage vendors, contractors, and service agreements to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
Coordinate work orders, facility projects, office moves, renovations, and capital improvements.
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain building documentation, drawings, permits, and compliance records.
Track budgets, process invoices, and prepare operational reports.
Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, tenants, and stakeholders.
High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
7+ years of facilities, engineering, or building operations experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Experience supervising maintenance personnel and coordinating vendors and contractors.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
Experience with CMMS/work-order management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
EPA Universal CFC Certification.
Operating Engineer License, SMA, Journeyman, or equivalent certification.
Experience with capital projects, space planning, vendor management, and budget administration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goodyear, AZ.
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
