Job Description
Under limited supervision, this entry-level engineer performs Radio-Frequency (RF) systems engineering on an interdisciplinary team of subject matter or professional experts. Performs technical and planning tasks to characterize how a system will operate in the modern electromagnetic battlefield environment. Testing includes radio frequency allocation and associate processes; intra-system electromagnetic compatibility; electromagnetic environment setup, troubleshooting, and operations; spectrum compatibility; and electronic attack (jamming).
Specialty areas include RF engineering theory, concepts, and performance; design and development of RF testing methodologies; and programming and operation of RF automated instrumentation and test equipment. Other requirements include collection, reduction, and analysis of data necessary to characterize the performance of complex systems with regard to radio frequency issues. Perform other duties as assigned to support mission requirements.
- Perform RF systems engineering tasks within an interdisciplinary team.
- Characterize system operation in the modern electromagnetic battlefield environment.
- Conduct testing such as radio frequency allocation, intra-system electromagnetic compatibility, spectrum compatibility, and electronic attack (jamming).
- Design and develop RF testing methodologies.
- Program and operate RF automated instrumentation and test equipment.
- Collect, reduce, and analyze data to characterize performance of complex systems.
- Minimum education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with RF emphasis from an ABET‑accredited institution. - Work experience:
advanced test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, and arbitrary waveform generators. - Experience conducting or evaluating RF measurements such as power, frequency, and modulation.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
- Work in extreme weather conditions (summer temperatures up to 120 °F).
- Meet physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined in SOPs.
- Be capable of lifting 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Valid driver’s license without restrictions.
- Dependable transportation and means of communication.
- Proficient in spoken, written, read, and understand English.
- Customer‑service attitude.
- Willing to cross‑train and use “down‑time” effectively.

- Master of Science degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with RF emphasis from an ABET‑accredited institution.
- Extensive experience conducting or evaluating RF measurements on high‑power transmitters and amplifiers, including intermod product characterization.
- Experience with Electronic Warfare testing.
- Experience developing scripts and software programs to control test instrumentation.
- U.S. Citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
