This position is eligible for relocation assistance (with a 24‑month commitment) and a $6,000 signing bonus (with a 12‑month commitment).
Annual salary will reflect $77,888.78 – $ annually ($37.44 – $50.18 per hour) depending upon years of service.

Key Responsibilities- Patrol designated areas, enforce state laws and city ordinances, and respond to emergency situations.
- Educate the public regarding safety and security.
- Perform administrative duties, including proposals, policy review, statistical reports, and training.
- Conduct investigations, process and book suspects, submit reports to prosecutors, and appear in court.
- Participate in community outreach such as block watch meetings, school classes, and public presentations.
- Assist in departmental and city process improvement teams.
- Active AZPOST certification in good standing.
- Three or more years of solo police officer status.
- Effective communication with diverse populations.
- Quick thinking and sound decision-making under pressure.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- United States citizen with valid driver’s license.
- Active AZPOST certification (in‑state) or successful completion of approved POST basic training with at least one year of solo officer experience (out‑of‑state).
- Ability to pass required tests, polygraph, medical exam, drug screening, and background investigation.
- Strong reading, math, and writing skills; ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Managerial responsibilities to regulate caseloads and schedules.
- Budget responsibility for documenting and researching departmental needs.
- Professional judgment for applying procedures and standards.
- Effective interpersonal and human relations skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Oral Board Interview. The iSWIFT interview (individual scheduled wiki interview and fitness testing) will be conducted virtually or in person. Applicants are evaluated on problem‑solving, communication, professionalism, and appearance.

Background Investigation. Includes background packet, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation for out‑of‑state applicants, controlled substance screening, medical evaluation, chief interview, and firearms qualification.
