Overview
As a Microsoft Data Center Program Manager (DCPM), you will perform troubleshooting for service incidents, manage assigned projects to meet service delivery objectives, and escalated to appropriate stakeholders to remove obstacles. You will also follow safety policies and procedures and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents. This role provides a solid understanding of data center procedures, collaboration across various teams, and the opportunity to mentor across data centers by sharing best practices.
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCPM, you will deliver core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, One Drive and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate conscientiousness on cost adherence to budget requirements and help maintain costs within budget.
- Follow and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures. Report immediately any safety or security issues or concerns.
- Perform troubleshooting for service incidents and escalations to meet SLA/OLAs, minimizing disruption to clients/customers and the business.
- Recognize potential customer impact of other events and issues, communicate impact, and plan for it.
- Proactively review schedules, avoid conflicts, manage expectations, and offer alternatives when defining customer solutions.
- Manage relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure expectations are clarified, understood, documented, and met.
- Suggest ways to reduce the risk of performing maintenance and work with others to accommodate scheduling needs.
- Hold self-accountable for end‑to‑end service quality, completeness, and resulting customer experience, supporting escalation of issues to the appropriate owner.

- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year industry experience.
- OR 2+ years of industry experience and college coursework.
- 2+ years’ experience in critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, networking, capacity, DC rack/enclosures, structured cabling).
- Technical college degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, network certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP.
- Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including background checks required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Data Center Operations Management IC3 pay range: USD $84,400–$168,800 per year (USD $118,800–$186,600 in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area). Certain roles may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
