The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's enterprise and manufacturing network infrastructure at the Goodyear, AZ facility. This role serves as the primary technical owner for LAN/WAN, wireless, firewall, and IT/OT network segmentation, ensuring secure, reliable, and highly available connectivity across corporate and plant floor environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with enterprise switching and routing, firewall administration, VLAN design, network security, and manufacturing (IT/OT) network architecture.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including core and access switches, routers, and firewalls, across the Goodyear facility.
  • Implement and manage VLAN segmentation, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing to support both corporate IT and manufacturing OT (MES, AGV) network requirements.
  • Design and maintain network segmentation between IT and OT (Manufacturing, MES, and AGV) environments to ensure security, isolation, and operational reliability.
  • Configure and support high-availability network architecture, including HA firewall pairs, redundant core switching (MLAG/VRRP), and failover testing.
  • Support and maintain site-to-site VPN connectivity between U.S. manufacturing facilities and the India headquarters, ensuring secure and reliable communication.
  • Administer firewall policies, access control lists, 2FA/MFA hardening, and security configurations on perimeter and internal firewalls.
  • Evaluate, deploy, and maintain point-to-point (P2P) wireless bridge links for inter-building and inter-facility connectivity.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using network monitoring tools; proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex connectivity, latency, and performance issues across switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including IP address schemas, VLAN assignments, switch/port mapping, network diagrams, and firewall rule sets.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors on structured cabling, patch panel labeling, network cabinet cleanup, and infrastructure installation projects.
  • Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team on VAPT findings, network-related remediation efforts, and ongoing security compliance.
  • Support the network aspects of IT infrastructure projects, plant buildouts, system migrations, and equipment cutovers.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, network security policies, and infrastructure best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and IT staff.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and on-call support as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or enterprise network administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, HP/Aruba, Forti Gate, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in VLAN design, routing protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN networking.
  • Experience with firewall administration, site-to-site and remote-access VPN configuration, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with IT/OT network segmentation in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling, patch panels, and network documentation standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
