The Town of Camp Verde operates under a council-manager form of government and provides a full range of municipal services, including public safety, utilities, community and economic development, parks and recreation, infrastructure, library services, and administration. Reporting directly to the Town Council, the Town Manager serves as Camp Verde’s chief administrative officer, providing strategic leadership and oversight of daily municipal operations. The Town Manager leads a talented executive team, fosters collaboration across departments, and builds strong partnerships with businesses, community organizations, regional agencies, and residents. This role is instrumental in advancing the Town’s priorities, supporting sustainable growth, strengthening economic development, and ensuring high-quality services for the community.

Under direction from the Town Council, the Town Manager serves as the administrative head of the Town having responsibility for the proper administration of all affairs of the town government. Working directly with the Department Heads, the Town Manager is responsible for ensuring accountability throughout the organization, the achievement of tangible results, and the implementation of policies of the Town Council in an effective manner;

work involves planning, budget and financial management, problem solving and organizing with the authority to make decisions as well as delegate to others; the work environment is relatively unpredictable and requires the ability to manage many projects at once and exhibit flexibility in the face of change; although governed by policies, the Manager must frequently act without precedent.

This executive classification oversees, directs, and participates in assigned programs and projects including Town-wide organizational activities and operations, organizational strategies and formulation and attainment of Town goals and objectives. The Town Manager provides guidance and direction with visionary and innovative leadership, supervision and management of employees. The classification regularly interacts with the Town Council, and departmental representatives in obtaining and coordinating projects and information.

Successful performance of the work requires knowledge of public policy, municipal functions, and activities, including the role of an elected Town Council, and the ability to develop, oversee, and implement projects and programs in a variety of areas. Responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the Town with those of other departments and agencies and managing and overseeing the complex and varied functions of the Town.

The incumbent is accountable for accomplishing organizational planning and operational goals and objectives and for furthering Town goals and objectives within general policy guidelines.
