Job Summary
Quality Assurance Technician – Goodyear, AZ (2nd shift, 1:45pm–10:00pm). Base rate $22.50/hr with a shift differential of $0.75/hr.
Responsibilities- Perform routine laboratory operations, including quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests, following standard procedures.
- Monitor production process and product quality via sensory, weight control, and analytical methods (color, moisture, pH, weight, size, etc.).
- Evaluate finished product for moisture, ingredient content, breakage, color, package fill, raw and finished weights, seal integrity, code date legibility, and overall quality.
- Accurately perform and document all testing; inspect and test incoming raw materials, in‑process products, finished goods, and products from external suppliers.
- Utilize testing equipment for validation and calibration.
- Communicate out‑of‑compliance situations to production employees and QA supervisors.
- Follow safety and hygiene guidelines, keep work areas clean, store supplies properly, and adhere to safe‑lifting instructions.
- Execute and monitor the Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan under the SQF program.
- Identify and investigate out‑of‑compliance finished product, coordinate disposition or rework with leadership approval.
- Monitor raw material storage, complete shift tailings, and report abnormal findings.
- Validate and verify metal detection; audit allergen maintenance sheets and operator forms.
- Conduct pre‑op inspections of processing, packaging, and mixing equipment and perform plant sanitation verifications to ensure allergen‑free and clean equipment.
- Participate in cleaning programs such as Kleanz, if applicable.
- Perform mandatory overtime as required and other duties as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality systems (SQF, HACCP, etc.) is a plus.
Sitting, standing, walking, and using hands continuously; climbing occasionally; stooping, kneeling, and one‑handed or two‑handed carrying up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasionally climbing uneven surfaces to gather samples.
Work EnvironmentIndoor facility with potential exposure to dust, noise, heat/cold. Good lighting, ventilation, temperature, and noise conditions.
