, a premier mattress manufacturing arm of the MLILY company, is an air‑conditioned 650,000 sq feet manufacturing plant in Goodyear, Arizona. We manufacture advanced memory foam mattresses that help you sleep cooler and more comfortably through the night so that you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on whatever the day throws at you.

Job Summary

The Chemical Technician is an hourly position, working to manufacture foam slabs for future foam mattress assembly. By using a chemical process to create the slabs, the technician must be able to wear and maintain proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include steel‑toed boots, a full‑face respirator, a half‑face respirator, safety glasses or goggles, and chemical resistant gloves. The technician will also be required to wear a class B chemical coverall suit when required.

Pay

$21/hour for regular time & $31.50/hour for overtime.

Schedule
  • Day Shift: 7am-5:30pm, Monday – Friday
  • Five 10‑hour shifts
  • Up to 50 hours per week, overtime varies based on business needs
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Performs all steps to maintain correct chemical balance or material mixture needed to support proper equipment operation, product quality, or other chemical needs.
  • Conducts chemical process tests, taking and measuring samples at specified intervals and stages.
  • Safely maintains and stores all relevant tools, instruments, measuring devices and equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Must adhere to all regulations and policies pertaining to OSHA, ADOSH, EPA, and DOT.
  • Must maintain high safety standards in all aspects of company policies and report any concerns related to safety to appropriate supervisor/manager.
  • Must wear and maintain proper PPE according to OSHA regulations.
  • Monitor/clean all necessary equipment related to the foam manufacturing process.
  • Must execute and follow established chemical clean‑up/spill procedures according to OSHA, ADOSH, EPA, and company hazardous waste regulations/policies.
  • Ability to work overtime, when necessary, to ensure production goals are met.
  • Identifies problems and/or accidents to supervising chemist.
  • Must understand and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) pertaining to hazardous and non‑hazardous chemicals.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit, respirator operational test, and a respirator fit test physical.
  • Must pass Hazardous Communications classes pertaining to the foam manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to work safely with hazardous chemicals.
  • High level of detail and organizational skills.
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • One year of related training as chemical technician.
  • Experience in production, manufacturing or related environment.
  • Working with hazardous chemicals.
  • High School Diploma/GED, preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Very Heavy work: Lifting up to 50 pounds constantly on your own & up to 100 pounds via team lift frequently during a 10‑hour shift.
  • Standing: To remain on one’s feet in an upright position on and off during a 10‑hour shift with two 15‑minute breaks and a 30‑minute lunch break.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Stooping: Bending the body forward and down while bending the spine at the waist 45 degrees or more either over something below waist level or down towards an object on or near the ground.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Vision: The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work, and to visually inspect machinery being used.
