The successful candidate:
- Collaborates with Physicians to evaluate patient readiness for change in level of care.
- Responsible for the assessment, treatment care, and education of patients. Cares for ICU, medical‑surgical, and telemetry patients as necessary.
- Conducts risk assessment, prevention, and treatment of pressure injury.
- Interprets and operates cardiac and other invasive and noninvasive monitors, recognizes normal/abnormal rhythms and trends, and institutes appropriate interventions.
- Provides care for patients with complex needs, including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
- Initiates and maintains complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters, and arterial lines.
- Ensures safe use of less invasive life‑supporting modalities such as BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure‑based CO/CI & SVO2 monitor, and core temperature monitors.
- Manages patients with IV lines, arterial lines, central lines, ports, chest tubes, pleural catheters, tracheostomy tubes, and endotracheal tubes.
- Maintains and cares for patients with an ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy.
- Cares for, assesses, and monitors patients with Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and epidural catheters.
- Has basic knowledge of chemotherapeutic and immunotherapeutic agents.
- Must be able to work 3 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 p‑m
· 7:30 a‑m.
- 1 year experience in ICU/Inpatient settings.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a Compact State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification—an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If current certification does not meet the guidelines, employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire and attend an onsite initial BLS course and will need to renew every two years.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification—employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire AHA ACLS certification and will need to renew every two years. Employees will not be allowed to provide ACLS for patients independently until AHA ACLS cards are obtained.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Card within six months of hire and renewal every two years.
