The position will report to the Quality Manager under the Quality Engineering Department. Growth and development are important aspects of this position; it offers paths to leadership or technical expertise.

• Develop and implement quality systems and changes that promote product and process improvement
• Collaborate with business unit teams, engineering groups, and project teams to qualify internally manufactured products and solve problems
• Perform measurements using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, height gauges, optical comparator, and other traditional tools
• Analyze information and measurement data to create, maintain, and present results to stakeholders
• Support validation and acceptance of new manufacturing fabrication and metrology equipment
• Support Internal Production Part Approval Process, Supplier Production Part Approval Process, and Calibration
• Manage projects related to quality systems and metrology
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and work instructions
• Supervise quality/metrology technicians and quality processes

Education

Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

3+ years of experience in quality, metrology, and a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and proficiency with computers and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Agile, Minitab) and other manufacturing/quality databases. Proficiency in CMM programming and ability to create standardized and custom measurement reports. Strong leadership in assigned projects and timely completion of work. Experience with root cause analysis and quality improvement tools (histograms, Pareto charts, run charts, 5-Whys, cause-and-effect diagrams).

Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T. Extensive knowledge of metrology inspection methods, tools, and equipment. Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

Preferred

American Society for Quality - Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or other applicable certifications. Experience in manufacturing of plastic and sheet metal parts. Experience with 3D CAD software. Knowledge of Metro logic and Polyworks software. Knowledge of quality processes, 6S, Lean Six Sigma, advanced statistics, and Design of Experiments.
